Welcome to the Hidden Almanac, I’m Reverend Mord.

Today is March 25th, 2015.

It was on this day, in 1897, that dignitaries of the mole and sloth people finally concluded their opening remarks. This laid the groundwork for a long and productive cooperation between these two disparate peoples. The humans were still not invited.

And it was on this day in 1977 that the hit single “Dark Side of Reason” was released by Wailing Abortions. This shock punk band was loathed by the establishment and even other punk bands said “Those fellows are a bit off.” nevertheless, “Dark Side of Reason” went Platinum, despite being recorded entirely in pig-latin.

It is the Feast Day of Saint Molerus, patron saint of screaming marketers. A sixth century martyr, he stood on street corners advertising salvation, and shouting at passers-by. Eventually they killed him. It was generally agreed that this was objectively wrong, it was much more peaceful in town after that.

In the garden, the CharmX van has re-appeared. It is a shame that some...vandal...filled their excavation with concrete. Of course, we here at the Hidden Almanac Test Garden were much too busy planting peas to notice such things. We will certainly cooperate with investigators.

Meanwhile the few surviving hellebores are putting up new leaves, and there are buds on the blueberry.

The Hidden Almanac is brought to you by Red Wombat Tea Company, purveyors of fine and inaccessible teas. Red Wombat --- “We Dig Tea.”

Also brought to you by the Sacred Order of Bull Moose Men. The spring equinox is over, so it is time to begin training for the harvest festival. You can never get those calves stretched out too soon. Come on by the lodge for our couch-to-running-for-your-life training program.

That’s the Hidden Almanac for March 25th, 2015. Be safe, and stay out of trouble.
