Welcome to the Hidden Almanac, I’m Reverend Mord.

Today is October 26th, 2015.

PD: Hi everybody! I’m Pastor Drom!

PD: Okay, so we’ve got a guy that you think is the link to the only surviving cultists of Corvus-Wrax. Except you don’t know for sure.

RM: There are some indicators in the text that my speculation is warranted.

PD: Okay. So now what do we do? Do we know where this guy’s cult lives? Can we get a restraining order?

RM: It is a mystery religion, Drom. It is by nature mysterious.

PD: Do they have a P.O. Box?

RM: (sigh) Before you take legal action and bring yourself to their notice, we must ascertain whether or not the Tongue of the Raven is actually what I believe it is.

PD: Are you gonna go join the cult? Because I don’t think you should join the cult. That seems like a good way for you to get brainwashed and me to get martyred.

RM: Indeed. We are going to require a book.

PD: Please tell me my fate does not hinge on interlibrary loan again!

RM: It does not. The volume I require is the second volume of the Cult of the Ghouls, by the Troyzantine mystic Des Marier. It was suppressed by the Church, but it faithfully recorded the secrets of every mystery religion within two hundred miles of Troyzantium. Only six copies were made, and it has an unfortunate habit of driving the reader mad.

PD: Oh, one of those.

RM: However, it seems unlikely that the section we need will be one of the ones that lead to madness. Alamance’s cult was extremely minor, after all. I see no need to read the entire book. Legend has it that it has an excellent index.

PD: Okay, but where are we going to find a copy?

RM: It will have been placed with the other suppressed arcane works, in the tomb of the Librarian Prince.

PD: Field Trip!

RM: Yes. But not today. Because in the garden, there is a great deal of raking to be done, and the frog pond needs to have the dead leaves removed before it freezes or the frogs lay eggs among them. Also, if you are planning on cold-stratifying any seeds, you can sow them now, or store them in the refrigerator until spring. Some seeds prefer a bed of damp vermiculite, but too much moisture will lead to rot. There are a very few seeds which require a benevolent mold to work on the seed casing in order to germinate, so one should not leap to remove it. Research is advised.
