November 4 is the Feast Day of Saint Bothian, patron of disguises. This saint most likely did not ever actually exist, and seems to be the result of a long-running joke among hagiographers. When they were unable to determine which saint was pictured in a book or icon, they would claim that it was actually St. Bothian in disguise again. This joke has apparently been running since the late 9th century and at times has given rise to wild speculation among archivists who were not in on the joke.
