November 7th is the Feast Day of Saint Moreno, patron of people who make yarn or felt out of weird species. Dog hair sweaters, Persian cat hair blankets, and cow yarn jumpers all fall under the protection of Saint Moreno. She came to providence in the late seventh century, when she was trapped in a barn with several children during a blizzard. She saved them all from freezing to death by weaving warm blankets from the hair of rats that had infested the barn. There is no word on how the rats felt about the matter. But as she is shown with a spindle in one hand and a rat perched on her shoulder, we are forced to assume the rats were willing participants.
